5 ways to de-stress

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone has a great start to their week and I hope it’s a happy and quick week! I’m not ever going to lie to yall and say I don’t get stressed because I do, so I came up with my 5 ways I de-stress to share with Y’all!

  1. Grab some fuzzy socks, a cup of your favorite tea and watch your favorite YouTuber.
  2. Take a warm shower. Grab your favorite body scrub and body wash! Then when you’re done, get your favorite smell good lotion and moisturize your skin. Nothing like smelling good to make you feel a bit better!
  3. Read a book! I love reading religious books or adventure books! Here’s  one book that I just finished and man- it’s worth the read I promise you!
  4. Light a candle. I stock up when Bath and Body Works has their candle sales for this exact reason! I light a candle and read or watch videos- do something YOU like to do.
  5. Pamper yourself. Put on those fuzzy socks, wash your face & apply a mask and just relax! I Make all of my off days my spa day, self-care is very important!

Mint mask // Book // Candle // Aloe fuzzy socks // Lotion

*Make sure if you get the mint mask you put ‘Natasha‘ in the “Where did you hear about us?” Section at checkout for $$ off your next order!*

I hope all of these tips help anyone who needs to de-stress! Like I said, self-care is very important and it’s just as important to do stuff that you like to do when you’re off and have free time!

Here’s our latest YouTube video!

Ballin’ on a budget | Pt. 1

Hello everyone! I’m starting a new blog post series called Ballin’ on a budget which means I’ll show y’all how to find designer items at affordable prices, and items that are trending/in style without breaking the bank! Sadly I won’t be doing any “save or splurge” posts but this will be very similar!

1. Tory Burch // 2. White shorts // 3. Denim skirt // 4. Off the shoulder top // 5. Oversized cardigan // 6. Layered necklace // 7. Nude espadrille sandals // 8. Saddle bag // 9. Monogram necklace // 10. Black heels

I’m in love with everything in the photos! I’m a lace up shoe fanatic so both of these designer shoes are right up my ally plus they’re great prices! Especially for Marc Fisher. I don’t know if y’all know this about me, but I love wearing sweaters and nice cardigans all year around (I know that makes me sound crazy in Houston) but I can’t help it. This oversized cardigan is definitely on my wish list. These gold layered necklaces are so in style right now so why not get one without breaking the bank? To top everything off this Tory Burch pink pouch is super cute and it’s a great price. I love finding designer items that don’t make you feel guilty for spending a lot…That’s what ballin’ on a budget is all about!

Save or splurge! Pt. 2

Last year I did part 1 of this series, and I’ve found more items to share again! Everyone loves to save money and to buy pieces that are worth the money. I’ll be showing you what’s worth spending the big bucks on and what’s not.

To start things off with a bang, let me tell you about this leopard clutch and sunglasses. The Prada brand of these sunglasses is over $300! The identical pair that isn’t Prada is only $12! I know the Designer Chloe ’62mm’ sunglasses are a huge trend but cost almost $400. I swear I saw an identical pair at Francesca’s for under $20! Unfortunately, they don’t have it posted online, but I saw them in store. Let’s talk about this leopard clutch, it’s been seen everywhere by every blogger. I wanted this leopard clutch, but could never just drop $300 on a clutch, this Sole Society version is less than $40!

I know this cheaper alternative of the velvet trend Gucci bag isn’t very similar, but there is a Rebecca Minkoff version that’s under $200. Since velvet is a trend, I decided to find the most affordable version of a velvet bag plus this green is so pretty! Everyone needs a black bag as a go to, so you can always invest in a great piece that will last you forever or get the affordable version! The cheaper version of this Zac Posen bag doesn’t have as much hardware on it, but it’s still cute!

Now let’s talk about jewelry! These BaubleBar tassel earrings are trending as well and compared to the price of the Oscar de la Renta tassel earrings you save a ton! This nail ring by James Avery is my favorite. I’ve loved the Cartier nail ring forever, but it’s over $2000! The cheaper nail ring alternative is made out of sterling silver which is still a great material and will last a long time. You will definitely be seeing this ring on my fingers! I always love following trends, especially if I get a good deal. This Tiffany & Co ‘T’ rose gold bracelet is over a thousand dollars, but Nordstrom has a cheaper alternative.

I’ve linked the items with the higher prices on top, and lower prices items/similar towards the bottom

Don’t get me wrong, some items are worth splurging the extra money on. One thing I don’t ever recommend is spending a ton of money just to stay with trends. If you truly believe you will use that item for many years then buy the expensive item. The best of both worlds is when you find a cheaper option that is still very good quality, just like the nail ring! I will try my best to post a splurge or save every month with the best deals on trends I can find. I hope y’all enjoy this post!

Where to Houston

Houston is growing so much and is filled with so many amazing cultures, no matter what part of Houston you go to you’ll find something great! I’ll be telling you about the coolest mom and pop shops, restaurants and places to go!

So to start off, my FAVORITE place to go for coffee is a2ndcup. I get the toffee coffee. Not only does this place have good coffee, it helps raise awareness about sex trafficking! Everyone is so nice, you’ll love it.

Everyone loves icecream right?! FatCatCreamery has regular icecream AND vegan icecream. I believe the flavors are different everyday, but you can’t go wrong with their unique flavors.

Y’all. Brasil Cafe is a need. If anyone in Houston hasn’t eaten here, you need to. They have good pizza, but I usually get the butternut squash and habanero tamales with an arugula salad- it’s heaven!! Also, CommonBond Cafe is right across the street if you want amazing pastries!

Now let’s talk about shopping. A little gem is Casa Ramirez in the heights. They have tons of Latin/Hispanic gifts, books, art, you name it!

Let’s talk about free! The Contemporary Arts Museum  and Menil collection  are some really good places to go. The contemporary arts museum changes its collections often, so it’s a great place to always go back to! The Menil has different sections of art that’s sometimes thousands of years old, to modern and cultural art.

Montrose has tons of cute resale shops and antique stores back to back, so you can make it a day there! Especially if you eat at Brasil Cafe.

Rice Village  is basically a mini mall. They have Half Price bookstore, small boutiques, and affordable restaurants all around. You can’t go wrong visiting, or walking the little trail around Rice University!

Wherever you go in Houston you’re bound to have fun, and good food! I hope y’all enjoyed this post for future Houston trips, or just to get to know HTown more.

About Me

Hey y’all! I’ve never formally introduced myself so here I go!

My name is Natasha O’Neal, I’m 20 years old and love anything about animals! As a few of y’all know, I love baking and cooking. My dream kitchen is basically anything in Williams Sonoma. The most important thing is that I hold my family and God as the top priorities in life, and wouldn’t want anything else above them!

Okay, so I have a confession… I’m a cat lady. I’ve had cats all my life and currently have 6 cats!! (That’s including the stray my family has been caring for) 3 of my animals are rescues. I also have a pitbull mix and have had other exotic animals like iguanas and ferrets! I can not turn away animals. I can talk about animals all day!

LOVE home decor. I fall for Homegoods and Target all the time. I mostly go for unique pieces or any rustic/home vibes. My favorite holiday is Christmas, so just imagine how crazy I get with decor around December! My tree is already up haha.

One thing I believe that is very important to do is to give back. See a homeless person on the street holding a sign saying “Hungry” and you have food? Offer it to them. Being kind to others is not hard. We need kinder people in the world. Does your church need volunteers? Offer your help. Love animals? Go volunteer at a shelter. I’m such an emotional person that when Daniel and I were at Crackle Barrel (My favorite place) We saw this old man alone praying over his food and me just teared up because it was the cutest thing ever.

I love traveling and learning. Both of my grandmothers taught me to always stay in school and to explore the world. Like I said earlier, I hold my family dear to my heart so of course, I did what they said. I took my first trip outside of the country to Haiti….and I loved it! I would highly recommend going on a mission trip or vision trip for your first time out of the country. Also, I’m currently in college aspiring to become an occupational therapist! I love helping people and would love to work with children. I basically love everything haha!

Here’s what I’m wearing! It’s so comfy for the fall weather that finally arrived.

Flannel  | Shirt | Jeans | Purse  | Boots

Hope y’all loved getting to know more about me!

Crockpot Cooking: Chicken Chili

  • 2 cups of corn
  • 1 can of black beans, drain juice
  • 1 can of pinto beans, drain juice
  • 1 jalepeno shopped (leave seeds in or out depending on what you want)
  • 1 stick of celery chopped
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/4 chopped red onion
  • 14oz of peeled tomatoes (blended a bit, because they might be in chunk form)
  • 3 lbs of chicken (tenders or breasts)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cumin
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1-2 tsp chili powder to your liking
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Once you’ve chopped up everything, add all the spices and veggies together. I like to place the chicken on the bottom of the crockpot, because all of the juices will soak into it making the chicken taste better! Then you put your Crockpot on low until chicken is ready. I usually leave everything cooking for about 3-4 hours just to have the flavors mix together, once done shred chicken.I love making this for my family because they’re all meat lovers so this is a healthier option than beef.

Pair with some jalepeno corn bread and some fresh avacado topings then enjoy!
Xoxo,

Flowers for fall

This is one of my favorite dresses! It has that romantic feel that you can dress up or down with boots or cute flats. Plus it has pockets! I love just about everything from Free People so this dress is the cherry on top 🙂 I’m usually a medium, but I got this in a small and it fits perfectly! Knee high boots are a trend right now and not everyone has $600+ to spend on designer ones so these were less than half of designer ones! I loved these because they didn’t have much of a heel (I’m tall enough already) so I know I’ll wear these during the fall and winter season.
