5 ways to de-stress 

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone has a great start to their week and I hope it’s a happy and quick week! I’m not ever going to lie to yall and say I don’t get stressed because I do, so I came up with my 5 ways I de-stress to share with Y’all!

  1. Grab some fuzzy socks, a cup of your favorite tea and watch your favorite YouTuber.
  2. Take a warm shower. Grab your favorite body scrub and body wash! Then when you’re done, get your favorite smell good lotion and moisturize your skin. Nothing like smelling good to make you feel a bit better!
  3. Read a book! I love reading religious books or adventure books! Here’s  one book that I just finished and man- it’s worth the read I promise you!
  4. Light a candle. I stock up when Bath and Body Works has their candle sales for this exact reason! I light a candle and read or watch videos- do something YOU like to do.
  5. Pamper yourself. Put on those fuzzy socks, wash your face & apply a mask and just relax! I Make all of my off days my spa day, self-care is very important!

10 Drugstore Products You Should Try

Happy Monday Y’all! I ran a poll on Twitter about what type of blog posts Y’all like the most and beauty/skincare and affordable stuff were the top picks- so I’ll be doing more of those! I feel like the thing everyone deals with is the cost of skincare/beauty products being high for something that’s not too great. I’m showing Y’all my favorite items from the drugstore (Target, Ulta, Walmart, etc.).

The Biore nose strips are so good! Daniel has oily skin so he uses these and it works so well- not really on my skin because I don’t have as many black heads but if you do and you have oily skin I’d recommend these. You can get them Here.

The Wet and Wild liquid eyeliner is good if you want to find a great drugstore liner. I personally like the felt tip liners but this one is black, easy to use and doesn’t run. You can get it Here.

I gave into all the YouTube hype and got the Butter Bronzer and Y’all… it smells like coconut and just a summer smell! It isn’t super dark to where you overload it but it is build able and literally feels like butter in the pan and on your face. You can get it Here.

I got really curious one day to try drug store moisturizer so this E.L.F one caught my eye. Not going to lie I was kinda scared cuz I hear drug store moisturizers can feel greasy on your skin but I put a few drops of the Herbal E Oil from Ginamarie Products and it was such a good/cheap moisturizer! I wouldn’t say it’s my holy grail but it’s good for the price and it didn’t break my face out. I love these Burts Bees cucumber face wipes! I like the Neutrogena ones too but Burts Bees are one of my forever favorite brands- I even love their chapstick because not a lot works for my skin. You can get them Here.

This Oh My Gloss from Rimmel really surprised me. I’m usually not a fan of glosses because they’re sticky and don’t really hydrate. This one is light, not sticky, and hydrates my lips! You can get it Here.

I love a good face scrub and I love finding an affordable one! Everyone says such great things about Mario Badescu so this face scrub would be perfect to exfoliate and get any dead skin off and smooth out your skin.. plus it smells like strawberries! You can get it Here.

I remember trying this Double Extend mascara for the first time back in junior high (cringe worthy makeup) but I forgot how much I loved it! I’m a strong believer in priming your eyelashes then applying mascara so you get 2 for 1 price with this! You can get it Here.

I know a lot of people are starting to use micellar water to take off makeup- not that I have anything against it but why not use witch hazel? It tones your face and has healing properties for if your skin is in the middle of a breakdown or if you have any skin issues. I’ve loved using this for many years and I swear by it to heal any breakouts! You can get it Here.

Lastly, one of my favorite drug store finds ever is this E.L.F perfect HD finish powder. I kid you not this stuff makes your foundation and makeup stay in place all day and it doesn’t have a cake look at all! I did love my Laura Mercier translucent powder, but the price wasn’t my favorite since I go through it so fast. You can get the E.L.F powder Here

Favorite Nail Products

Hello! I hope everyone is or had a great Memorial weekend! Today I wanted to talk about what my favorite nail products were.

I’m sure y’all have heard me say countless times about how I have dry skin, so I love using this Herbal E Oil on my cuticles! I’m trying to ball on a budget so I don’t really get my nails done unless I have a special event to go to- so I’d like to call myself a nail polish connoisseur haha! Nothing drives me crazy more than chipping a nail right after painting them. I work with my hands so I’m constantly putting nail polishes to the test.

The drug store nail polish that I love is by Sally Hansen and it’s the Miracle GelI’ve purchased 2 different colors in that line that I love. They don’t chip and they last for days. Like I said I work with my hands so if you don’t then I’m sure they’ll last longer for you. When I say they last for days that means without any chipping. They retail for around $8.

One brand that I absolutely love (if you can find it) is Odeme. I bought this green color called Oz in the picture and it lasts so dang long! One thing I was guilty of was not applying a base coat so when I took the polish off it stained my nails yellow-which freaked me out at first! It is such a pigmented color and even 1 coat looks really good. I bought this from a local boutique called Beehive which I’ll link here. I had acrylic nails for years, so my nails became very thin. One thing that I don’t see a lot is biotin in womens’ daily vitamins so when I saw these 365 vitamins from Whole Foods have them I had to get them! I’ve always had to buy a separate bottle of vitamins to help grow strong nails so I’m happy I found these.

Skincare routine with Ginamarie

I recently teamed up with Ginamarie products to test their skincare and makeup products to share with y’all! I’ve been using their skincare products for over a week now and my skin has been so soft and healthy. I suffer with dry and sensitive skin, so trying new skin products usually scares me (unless my sister gives me the ok) because she is an esthetician. However, these Ginamarie products are so gentle and simple! I love it all. One of my favorite products is the Herbal E Oil, which oils can be bad or good due to them clogging up pores but this one is so good.

My 10 Beauty Must Haves

Happy end of the week everyone! I’m getting super excited for my upcoming trip at the end of this month, so excited that I’ve already started packing haha. Today I wanted to share my top 10 beauty must-haves ranging from skincare to hair products that I can not live without!

First off, if y’all read my Tarte obsession post then you know this is my favorite makeup brand of all time! Two things of them that I can not live without is their marine boosting spray and their Amazonian clay foundation. Every time I’ve worn their foundation I got so many compliments about how my skin looked! It’s a medium to full coverage foundation that lasts all day! The most important thing is that it doesn’t look caked on, especially because before I even start my makeup I spray the marine boosting mist all over my face so I can get a smooth application.

Y’all… I can’t even say enough about Fave4’s texture takeover hairspray. When I tease my hair I use this Cricket brand brush (which is available at Sally’s) to backcomb the roots of my hair, and then spray texture takeover in the spot I teased and creates so much volume it’s crazy!

My favorite mascara and primer are by Revitalash. I feel like the primer and mascara make my eyelashes look longer and more full. My eyes can get irritated easily by mascaras and this Revitalash one is the best I’ve used. I know it can be expensive, so my go-to drugstore mascara is the Voluminous in black by L’oreal.

No matter what face wash I use, I always go back to my First Aid Beauty Daily Face Cleanser. I always try to experiment with different skin care products, and if my skin decides to go crazy after using a new product I will wash my face with it for a few days and it’ll go back to normal. I have normal-to-dry skin, so moisturizing is important for me to do. I have a hydrating mask that I do twice a week, and I don’t know how my skin survived before without it. Fresh skincare has this Rose Face Mask that is basically an injection of hydration haha! Your skin may feel like a desert and once you apply this mask you feel like a goddess. It can get expensive, so I recommend getting a sample from Sephora before you buy a full size, but trust me it’s worth it if you have dry skin.

I know there are many different self-tanners on the market, but Loving Tan is so easy to use I love it! I’m not going to lie, I messed up my first application and I was bummed. I applied too much lotion all over myself that the self-tanner didn’t really sink into my skin. The best part about this brand is that they have videos and even on their Instagram they have tips on how to apply and remove the tanner. I got the dark mousse 2-hour express and a free applicator mitt with the code “ALEX” (code from my favorite YouTuber).

Lastly, I’ve been using this whitening toothpaste for months now and I can’t believe it works! I have tried whitening strips (which weren’t easy for me to use), I have tried whitening paste in trays, and nothing has worked so fast like this toothpaste! The price can be alot for just a tube of toothpaste, but believe me it works. The best part about it is the taste, and that there aren’t any harsh cemicals in it like others have.

Save or splurge | Pt. 4

I know this is kinda late since this is the March Save or splurge, but I promise I’ll be on time haha. I’ve had so many blog post ideas and this month is busy! I’ve decided to do blog posts Mondays and Fridays from now on just because I’d love to make y’alls Mondays brighter and Fridays happy!

Now let’s get to the fun part! I’ve seen these straw beach bags on every blogger’s Instagram, but not everyone has hundreds to spend on a beach bag. I found this similar one at SheIn and it still has adorable Pom poms! I’ve also seen this blue ruffled top on everyone, but I believe if you can get something like a shirt cheaper than the expensive version then you should do it! These black Valentino sandals are super cute but definitely a splurge if you want the real ones, but I found a similar (cheaper) version! The gold sandals are around $80, and even though they have a texture on the straps, you can get similar ones for under $20 (which I have). Some of  y’all know I’m obsessed with Jessie James Decker, and she has an amazing clothing line Here, but some of her items have cheaper dupes. This black lace top from Jessie’s clothing line has a dupe for $19! Although, I must say her clothing quality is one of the best I’ve seen and is worth the price because it’s still affordable. I’ve talked about these Chloe sunglasses (that I’m obsessed with) in a previous post about how they’re $376, well I’ve found a pair that’s under $50! Not ashamed to say I bought them for my upcoming trip this month!

 Lastly, one shirt that I’ve loved for months is the eyelash and lips shirt from Nordstrom, but $50 for a  simple graphic t-shirt just makes me go “eh”.  I’ve recently created a fundraiser so that I can go to an eyelash certification class this summer, and I’m selling the cheaper version of these shirts!
